Buying a home can be a stressful process. One of the most confusing things to people buying a home is how the process works, even people that have used a REALTOR in the past still are not clear about how it all works. Below are a few of the most frequently asked questions I receive to help you begin to understand.
Q: Do you show me only properties available from your company?
A: I show you homes that fit your needs and criteria. These may be homes from other companies or my own. If you see a home with a for-sale sign in the yard and would like to see it, don’t call the number on the sign - call me! I’ll arrange for us to view the home at your convenience.
Q: Do I have to pay you for your services before we start looking for my new home?
A: You don’t pay my commission the seller of the home you choose pays the commission. There maybe other small fees, but nothing until closing, and you will know what they are before we get that far.
Q: I’m not sure how much I can afford, how do I find out?
A: Before we even start looking for a home, I’ll help you to qualify for a mortgage and we’ll determine a price range that fits your lifestyle.
Q: I’m not comfortable with you knowing my personal finances; can you still be my agent?
A: My friends and family often ask this question. The loan officer is the only one that needs to know your financial information. I would just need to know the amount you are approved for and your down payment.
